Returning to the Field:
We are now down to only a few weeks before our scheduled date to return to Bolivia. The time has really flown by and as the saying always goes “It seems like it was just yesterday that we arrived”. We have had a wonderful time visiting with our families, especially with my dad’s sickness and death. I thank the Lord that we were here during this time, although it makes it a little more difficult to leave family and friends. We have also visited many churches both new and supporting and even though we were not able to visit all of them we are very thankful for how the Lord has blessed us. The next few weeks and months will be very hectic and crazy with the transition back to Bolivia. Our family will be leaving on June the 16th and will arrive early the next morning to the city of Cochabamba. Right now we are trying to move out of the house that we have been renting and get all of our belongings packed. We started with six suitcases and quickly realized that everything wasn’t going to fit so we had to purchase two more taking our total to eight that we will be taking back. When we arrive on the 17th we will be staying in a friends house while we get settled and look for a house of our own. Please pray for our families and the kids because they are really nervous about remembering their Spanish, and Titus will not even remember being there. They have also grown very fond of their grandparents, as have the grandparents to them. Our family is excited about getting back but of course it always brings mixed feelings.
Video Update:
The time has been much shorter than we imagined during our furlough and we were not able to visit all the churches that we hoped to. Because of that, I am going to try and send a copy of our ministry video to all of our supporting churches that we were not able to visit to give an update on the ministry in Bolivia over the last four years. This will be a DVD video that can be shown in church or shared with different people so that they can see the Lord’s blessings over the past four years. If you would like to be sure that you will receive one of these videos just send me an Email at kwhite@goreachtheworld.org with all of your mailing information or call 336-499-2585 to let us know and we will make sure that your on the list.
Ministry Update:
It has been a little while since we have given an update on our land project for Bolivia but the Lord continues to provide. Recently, one of our supporting churches from Alabama gave $250 towards the land and a good friend of ours gave $500. Then a family from our home church gave $1000 to help bringing our new total to $9440 towards buying land for our church in Bolivia. Please continue to pray for this need because upon our return to Bolivia this month we hope to start looking for the land that we will buy. Also, as you may have read in our last letter, Pastor Jaime Benitez left to return to Colombia because of problems with his paper work. After his departure, we made up a preaching schedule with the leaders of the church giving them the opportunity to carry on the ministry. The reports that I have been getting are that they are doing a great job. Most of them have not taught many times in the church so this is something new for them. I have met with them via skype and even helped some with their message outlines. We are excited about getting back to continue their training and preparation for the ministry.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for us as we make the transition back to Bolivia.
2. Pray that we can find a house to rent within the first few weeks of our arrival.
3. Pray for the funds needed to buy land and build a church building.
4. Pray for the Benitez family as they prepare to return to their home country of Colombia.
