Investing in Eternity:
When it comes to financial investing, I am no expert, but one thing I am learning is that if you are going to invest, it is for the long term. When you give a certain amount your greatest return will be seen farther down the road, sometimes even years later. Well, many times it is the same when we invest in the ministry. What we plant now we will reap sometime down the road. We are seeing the Lord do so many amazing things here in Bolivia and are anticipating all that we will see as time goes by. At this time, there is a great opportunity to invest in something that will affect many people for a lifetime. As you might already know we are raising funds to buy land and build a building for our church here in Bolivia. At this time, the Lord has allowed us to see right at ten thousand already raised for this need. We now are looking a several different opportunities, or pieces of land, within a few blocks of where we are, that will be coming available within the next few weeks. We are going to need at least $75,000 to purchase the land and then we will have to start building. We would like to ask you to pray especially for this need because we are hoping to decide on one of these pieces of land soon. Land here in our city is selling very quickly and the prices are going higher each day. If we let this opportunity slip by we might not have another like it for some time. The need is great but we know that our God is greater and that this is an investment that will be giving returns not just for a long time here, but for all eternity. Unto the Uttermost:
This past month we had what was one of our best and probably most important conferences of the year. This was our fourth mission’s conference and was entitled “The World in your Hands”. We wanted to focus on Acts 1:8 and reaching our Jerusalem (Cochabamba) Judea (Bolivia) Samaria (South America) and to the Uttermost (The World). We had a different group for each service where we focused on one of these areas. Their job was three fold: Show the need in the area that they were responsible for, have a plan of how to better reach the area, and finally they had to give an opportunity for everyone to get involved. Each group did a great job and there was great attendance each service. We had with us preaching the conference, Pastor Miguel Murillo and also with him Pastor Wilber Hallasi both from Peru. Prior to the conference the church was giving close to $100 a month to missions. When we collected the Faith Promise cards and everything was tallied up we had over $200 promised to Faith Promise Missions. We praise the Lord for this great response not only in giving money but also in volunteering to pray for and even visit many places around us that don’t have the gospel.
Getting Married:
It is a special day when two people unite to be one. I can remember how special the day was when Beth and I got married. For one of the couples in our church that special day was the 26th of the past month. This was only the second wedding that we have had and the first I have done alone. Please pray for Marcelo and Paola and their new family.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray that we can raise the funds to purchase land and make the right choice for our church.
2. Pray for the children’s Christmas play that we will be having.
3. Pray for the funds needed for the second phase of building in Cobija.
4. Pray as we plan our calendar activities for this coming year.
