We have enjoyed the past two weeks having my mom and Nephew (Nicholas) visiting us. We had a really good time with them and I think they did to even though they had some difficulties with their trip getting here. They had to return to Miami an hour into the flight because the plane had some technical problems and didn’t get here till late in the afternoon the next day. With that their luggage was left behind in Miami and didn’t arrive until five days later. After arriving we were able to show them the different sites here and enjoy the church activities. One of the highlights was going to the jungle area about three hours drive from our city. It was the first time we were able to go to this area of Bolivia, which is the capital of coca, which the plant from which Cocaine is made. We didn’t go there for the Coca obviously but were able to go to several parks and see lots of interesting wildlife. Below are some of the pictures with descriptions. We praise the Lord for our family and the opportunity to have them visit with us. If you are interested in coming down to visit just let us know.
This is a unique tree with the root system all above ground.
This is a walking tree. It actually extends it’s roots towards the sun and the roots behind die off. It can actually completely change it’s location over the years.
This is called the Holy Stick. It is always home to some vicious fire ants which become very aggressive when the plant is touched. They used to tie thieves to the plant when caught.
