I wanted to get caught up on our last bit of traveling. We recently were in Chattanooga Tennessee for a Sunday. We dropped in at Calvary Baptist Church to visit with Bro. Steve Roberson. Bro. Steve was my wife’s youth pastor growing up and even had a part in our wedding when we got married. He has always been a great blessing to us and it was amazing to see how the Lord is blessing the church and ministry there.
Then in the night we were at the Lakewood Baptist Church and Pastor David Bragg. We had a wonderful time there and enjoyed getting to know the dear people of the church. It was a bit overwhelming because they had several people there that had been many years on the mission field. There was one older lady that greeted me and said “Oh my husband and I were missionaries for 50 years in Central America”. No thats not a typo. She had spent over 50 years on the mission field before retiring. I thought what am I going to teach these people. Nevertheless they were very gracious and we had a great time.
The week after that, on Wednesday, I traveled out to near Knoxville to be with Pastor Garven Walls at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. I was able to meet up with a good friend from school David Trinkle. After service we went to eat Mexican food and met up with Pastor Adolfo Bourdet. Pastor Adolfo is from Bolivia and has several family members that attend out church there. After eating I headed home for about an 5 hour drive. I finally arrived home at around 2:30 am with no problems. We are going to be free for the next few weekends and hope to be able to be an encouragement to our pastor and church. Thanks for all your prayers during our traveling.
